How to choose a recording studio in Mérida: what to check before booking

Mérida has more recording options every year — for podcasts, voice-over, or bands — and they don't all offer the same thing for the same price. Here's what's worth checking before you book.

Is the room actually acoustically treated?

A regular room with furniture in it isn't the same as an acoustically treated booth. Treatment cuts echo and reflections, and it shows immediately in the audio quality — ask directly whether the room has real acoustic treatment, not just carpet and curtains.

Does the price include an engineer, or just the room?

Renting an empty room is different from renting the room with someone running the board. If you've never recorded before, having an audio engineer there makes a huge difference — they adjust levels in real time, catch clipping, and know what to do if something sounds off mid-session.

What mics and console do they actually use?
